Len Shorkey
Mortgage Broker
Len has been a Victoria resident since 1984. He joined Great Pacific in 2005, following completion of the Mortgage Broker program at the UBC Sauder School of Business. In addition to his position as a sub-mortgage broker, Len also serves on the Board of Directors for First Accredit Mortgage Corporation and GP MIC Fund.
Len’s financial and entrepreneurial career began at a young age, having shown a keen interest in enterprise, trading stocks and bonds, and then learning business management by working for his family’s business.
Len left his business roots for nine years as he proudly served with the Canadian Coast Guard as a lighthouse keeper. Upon his return to his financial career, he made a successful foray into private investing, then became a business consultant, providing business planning, venture capital initiatives, and marketing counselling to private and publicly traded companies, both locally and in the United States.
Len has also taken a keen interest in working closely with the Victoria business community by creating a number of special-interest investment clubs.
